Abstract
Myxoma peritonei is defined by Willis (1952) as a condition of massive gelatinous accumulation in the peritoneal cavity and gelatinous infiltration of the serous tissue resulting from perforation of mucinous cystoma of the ovary. Although mucinous peritonei is usually of ovarian origin a similar condition results from rupture of a mucocele of the appendix. A case of pseudomyxoma peritonei originated from benign mucinous cystadenoma of the ovary is repotred with a brief review of the literature.
